The Bluewind Energy Center will be an energy storage facility designed to safely store electricity and provide it to the electric grid when it is needed most. The facility will primarily consist of battery enclosures, transformers, and other electrical equipment that work together to store and deliver electricity. Much of the equipment is similar to what is typically found at electric substations.
Bluewind has been designed with setbacks from neighboring property lines, and landscaping and other screening measures will be incorporated to help reduce visibility from surrounding roads and properties.
