Bluewind Energy Center

The Bluewind Energy Center is a proposed 240 megawatt / megawatt-hour energy storage project that will interconnect to an existing transmission line 138kV Oaks Substation. At peak output, this project will discharge the electricity necessary to power roughly ~100,000 homes for a 2-hour period.

The project will be sited on approximately 15 acres in Atascosa County, Texas.

The rendering to the right is an example of a typical energy storage project.

Project at a Glance

Electrical Grid Impact: Enhance the reliability and resiliency of the local electrical grid

Economic Impact: Contribute to the county’s economic development – it will bring ~$25M of property tax revenue to the local community

Environmental Impact: The project has no air pollutions emissions and limited noise pollution

Traffic impact: After construction, there will be no long term impact on traffic. Less than 1 car per day during operations

Safety

Safety is East Point’s top priority – this project will adhere to all relevant codes and standards for battery energy storage systems consistent with industry standards We will coordinate closely with the relevant Fire Departments including, but not limited to, the Atascosa County Fire Department.
